Meet the Family! Craig was born in Albany on June 14, 1956. He has always wondered if his desire to serve the public comes from the fact that he was born on "flag day." Soon after he was born his parents put down roots on a piece of ground in Polk County and began the family farm. It is from those experiences that Craig learned his work ethic and unwavering determination to be successful. Craig and Dina married in May 1983 at the Monmouth Christian Church. They have four children, Jason, 33; Amanda, 23; Aubrey, 20; and Jonathan, 16. The Pope family has lived at their home on Airlie Road since 1977. They own 20 acres and enjoy all of the pleasures of rural life in western Oregon. The kids have all attended Central School District schools, and are among the highest achievers in their classes. Craig and Dina started Agriweld, Inc. in June of 1988, and have watched it grow into a nice small business that supports more than 10 families in its’ employment and distributes specialized agricultural equipment around the world. Jason has worked in the family business, Agriweld Inc. for more than 10 years. Jason and Marmilee married in 1999 in Monmouth and they are raising Marmilee's niece Tauscha. He and his family live in Independence Oregon. Amanda completed her Dental Assistant certification in August 2007, and was subsequently hired by an oral & maxillofacial surgical firm in Albany. She lives in Lebanon Oregon. Aubrey is completing her sophomore year at Oregon State University and is studying physical therapy. She resides at Sigma Kappa sorority during the school year, and works at Agriweld during her spare moments. Jonathan (Jon) is wrapping up his senior year at Central high school. Jon challenged his junior year and moved to his senior classes to complete high school a year early. He anticipates pursuing a career in mechanical engineering and will likely study at Oregon State. |
